Deepak Thakur joined RIPL as CEO in April 2015. Deepak is responsible for evolving strategic direction for the company towards achieving its vision of being a leading player in the metering domain through in-house efforts complimented by partnerships & collaborations while ensuring accelerated business growth and enhanced profitability. He also has ownership of managing the company’s international business portfolio which encomapasses its UK and USA subsidiaries. Deepak also leads ongoing efforts in exploring business opportunities in new and emerging technology verticals and geographies.
A mechanical engineer by qualification,he is an alumnus of Symbiosis Institute of Business Management where he completed his MBA in 1992.After his post-graduation, Deepak joined L&T in its Projects Division with responsibility of marketing and sales of turnkey projects.
In his last assignment as corporate head at Thermax for its Solar Energy business, his mandate was to expand Thermax’s portfolio of solar thermal & photovoltaic solutions across decentralized and grid connected applications. Deepak was able to ensure during his tenure that Thermax successfully leveraged its extensive thermal engineering, application development and integration expertise to proliferate unique solutions in the concentrated solar thermal (CST) domain emerging as one of the largest players globally in this space while in the rooftop/off grid PV space last year it was rated as among the top 5 integrators in the country.
Prior to Thermax, as Director, South Asia for Honeywell Security, he was responsible for building the second largest entity in the sub-continent for electronic securityin value terms in this industry. Before joining Honeywell, he headed the Channel Management Group at Thermax, where he was responsible for standard products business portfolio through a countrywide network of dealers and sales team.
In1995,he became part of the corporate function at Mahindra Group and was responsible for business development, diversifications and strategy for the group’s Infrastructure Development Sector(IDS).During this stint he was instrumental in setting up joint ventures in identified domains, incubating certain new businesses and streamlining the operational processes for various group companies.
